R is for Rain!
Rain Light Table Activity: Draw a cloud on transparency paper with a permanent marker, using acrylic teardrop gems as rain. Add numbers to the clouds for a fun math light table activity!

Rain Cloud in a Jar Science Experiment
Materials Needed:
- A clear jar
- Water
- Shaving cream (representing the cloud)
- Food coloring (liquid form works best)
- A dropper or spoon
- Water (for the colored rain)
Steps:
- Fill the jar with water: Fill your jar about three-quarters of the way with water. This represents the atmosphere.
- Add shaving cream: Spray a layer of shaving cream on top of the water to represent the cloud. You want it to be thick, so pile it up high!
- Prepare colored rain: Fill a separate container with water and add a few drops of food coloring. Mix it well. This will represent the rainwater.
- Create the rain: Using a dropper or spoon, slowly drop the colored water on top of the shaving cream.
- Watch it rain: As you add more colored water, the shaving cream “cloud” will eventually become saturated and allow the colored water to start dripping down into the jar. This simulates rain falling from the cloud when it gets too full.
This experiment is a fun and hands-on way to learn about weather patterns, especially how rain is formed!

R is for Rings!
These colorful rings are so fun to sort and for fine motor activities! I used similar colors of playdough to attach a stick to. Students can put the rings on the sticks of the corresponding colors. You can also create patterns with the colors and shapes!

R is for Rabbit!
Make a cute rabbit craft out of the letter R! We love making letter animals and putting them together to make an alphabet book!

R is for Robot!
We love creating robots out of rectangles! Such a fun activity with the letter R! All you need are different size rectangles cut out of construction paper and glue! You can draw the eyes or use googly eye stickers like the ones shown! It’s always fun to see what kind of robots my students create.

R is for Road!
Have fun practicing letter formation by running a car on each letter road! Download this FREE resource below!

R is for Roses!
- Counting mini roses: I picked up these cute mini foam roses at the Dollar Tree and we use them with muffin tins for counting. Add some mini tongs for extra fine motor practice!
- Rose Bouquet Colander Activity: Children can practice hand-eye coordination while having fun making a beautiful bouquet! I got some fake roses and a colander from The Dollar Tree and cut the rose stems to separate them from the bunch. You can also add number cards or dice and make a fun math game. The students take turns picking a card or rolling a dice and then putting that many flowers in the bunch!
