P is for Pig!
Make a cute pig puppet out of a pink lunch bag, construction paper, and googly eyes. So easy and fun!
Pick-a-Pig fine motor and counting activity. Practice number recognition and one-to-one correspondence while also strengthening fine motor skills! Use small pigs, mini tongs, and cups or a muffin tin with numbers on them.
Pig Letter Find: Write letters on pig toys and stick them in sand, children can pick a pig, find the letter on their worksheet, and color the corresponding pig. Such a fun letter recognition activity!
P is for Peacock!
Peacock Feathers Fine Motor Activity: Children can have fun practicing hand-eye coordination by putting fake peacock feathers in a colander. Attach a peacock body to the front of the colander and have fun giving him some feathers!
Peacock Craft: Pake a peacock out of the letter P! We love making an animal for each letter and then putting them all together to make our alphabet books!
P is for Pumpkins!
Pumpkin Light Table Activity: Use acrylic pumpkin scatters to put on the letter P! I love using transparency sheets to write each letter on with a permanent marker.

P is for Picnic!
One of my most favorite letter activities that we do every year is our Letter P Picnic! Parents send in different food items that start with P and we have fun having a picnic.
Great snack foods for kids that start with letter P include pretzels, pineapple, peppers, pepperoni, peaches, popcorn, peas, pasta, plums, and pears.
P is for Pancakes!
Letter P week always includes a Pancake Party! My students love helping me measure the ingredients and stir the pancake batter and enjoy watching me cook the pancakes on my griddle. Be sure to put this out of the reach of your students and never leave the griddle unattended. We also love eating the pancakes and reading If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Pancakes, Pancakes!.
P is for Pizza!
- Read Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party!
- Pepperoni Pizza Counting Game
- Pizza Fine Motor Mats: Use with mini erasers, craft poms, and playdough!
- Make mini pizzas out of flatbread, sauce, and cheese, yum!
P is for Pumpkin Pie!
Pumpkin Pie Shaving Cream Letter Writing: Have fun practicing letter formation by “writing” in shaving cream on a pumpkin pie! I used shaving cream but you can also use whipped cream. My students LOVED this activity! Find the printables HERE.
