E is for Eggs!
Egg Sensory Bin
Add eggs to a rice table or sensory bin for some letter E fun! My students love filling the eggs with rice and closing them back up which is such a great fine motor activity as well!
Egg diversity experiment (eggsperiment)
Learn about our differences with this egg experiment. Show different shades of eggs and ask the students what they see. Discuss the differences in the eggs and the differences we all have. Ask if they think the eggs will look the same or different on the inside. Crack the eggs open in clear cups to show that they are the same on the inside. Discuss that we have differences on the outside but that we all have feelings, beliefs, cares on the inside and that everyone is important and should be valued.
The Good Egg is a great book that talks about how worrying about the actions of others and trying to be perfect can affect us. It also reinforces the importance of self-care and walking away when you need a break. After we read this book we discuss how we can only control our own bodies and actions and that we might need a break sometimes. We also talk about how everyone is different and we need to embrace our differences and learn to understand each other as well.
Easter Egg Letter Matching
Make sure to stock up on Easter eggs in the spring to use for letter E activities! This is a fun letter matching activity that is also great for fine motor skills practice as well. Write the letter on each sides of the egg and have fun matching the letters and putting them in the basket!
